Biography

Kris Crunk is an award-winning producer, mixer, composer, arranger and orchestrator with more than two decades of experience creating music for artists, screens and live stages.

His record work includes five Grammy-nominated projects as a producer or mixer and three Dove Award wins. He is also a Regional Emmy Award winner for the original song Great New Day.

Kris produced and orchestrated the original companion soundtrack for The Battle for Heaven and Earth by Mark M. Yarbrough and Jerry B. Jenkins—a cinematic production for choir, featured artists, full orchestra and rhythm section, with music featured throughout the audiobook.

Rather than separating the creative and technical sides of the work, Kris moves naturally between them—shaping an arrangement, building a track, directing musicians and refining the final mix. That continuity has become central to Mountclear Productions: the musical idea stays intact from its first sketch through delivery.

Recent screen credits include the teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands, a featured song in Greenland 2: Migration, and music heard across Daredevil: Born Again, Deadliest Catch, Kitchen Nightmares, NFL Today and My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. His commercial and event work also includes projects for the Tennessee Titans, alongside national campaigns and a catalog of more than 2,000 original works.

For live entertainment, Kris has contributed orchestration, programming, co-arranging and keyboard performance to large-scale productions for Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney, including HIKO, the Disney Princess touring production, Hercules and Ultimate Pixar Adventure at Hong Kong Disneyland.

His collaborations span Rascal Flatts, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lauren Daigle, Donnie McClurkin and many others. His choral music is published by Hal Leonard and Choristers Guild and has received multiple J.W. Pepper Editors’ Choice Awards.

Kris is a member of the Recording Academy, an adjunct professor of Music Technology at Union University, a Mac app developer, a SoundFlow developer and a member of the Avid Beta Team. He launched Mountclear Jazz in 2025 as another outlet for original music and collaboration.

At the center of his work are faith, family and a belief that technical precision should always serve the emotional life of the music.
