Mountclear Jazz is breathing new life into beloved Christian songs through smooth, sophisticated jazz arrangements.
Inspired by the legacy of groups like Yellowjackets, Snarky Puppy and the Brentwood Jazz records we grew up on, the project creates fresh, soul-stirring interpretations that honor both the spirit of the original songs and the richness of the smooth-jazz tradition.
Featuring
A chart-topping smooth-jazz artist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Gabriel has worked with worship greats including Ron Kenoly and Alvin Slaughter. His debut album topped the Billboard Jazz chart, and his work continues across gospel, jazz, pop, touring, worship leading and artist production.
One of Nashville’s leading session guitarists, Dave has played on more than 30,000 songs. His credits include Steven Curtis Chapman, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Miley Cyrus, Little Big Town and the films I Still Believe and Courageous.
Founder of Mountclear Productions and the creative force behind the project, Kris is a five-time Grammy-nominated producer and mixer, three-time Dove Award winner, Regional Emmy Award winner, composer and programmer. He created Mountclear Jazz in 2025 to offer Christ-centered instrumental music that resonates across generations.
A Nashville session drummer and sought-after mixing engineer with more than three decades in Music City, Scott has performed or recorded with Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Alice Cooper, DC Talk, Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant and Michael W. Smith.
Preston is a Nashville-based bassist and multi-instrumentalist whose credits include Jason Crabb, Natalie Grant, Cindy Morgan, Travis Cottrell, Michael Omartian and Corey Kent. He also tours as bassist for Billy Currington.
An internationally renowned producer and engineer, Bill has more than 135 Gold and Platinum records and 80 top-twenty singles. His work spans more than 65 Grammy-nominated and winning albums; he won Best Engineered Album Grammys for Steely Dan’s Aja and Gaucho.
Eric’s 35-year recording career includes Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Bon Jovi, Carrie Underwood, Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffett, Sheryl Crow, Megadeth, Blues Traveler and Luke Combs. He toured with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band from 2011 through 2023.
A Nashville pianist, composer, producer and instructor, Curt blends gospel, jazz and worship influences. His collaborators include Jason Crabb, Marvin Sapp, Tauren Wells, Ron Kenoly and The Crabb Family. He founded the Buell Institute of Music and Red Note Music®.
A Grammy-nominated mastering engineer and protégé of Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab, Sunny is known for musicality and sonic detail. He founded Jacob’s Well Mastering in 2014; his credits include Paul McCartney, Frank Zappa, Dave Koz and Diana Krall.
Led by Gabriel Bello, BroHorns features Dr. Corey Gaston, Charlie Fisher, Michael Murphy and Jeremy Adams. Their recording and performance work spans gospel, worship, pop and international music, including Elevation Worship and the Billboard-charting Times of Refreshing.
